Marlo Angling Club
The Marlo Angling Club is located at the mouth of the mighty Snowy River 385km east of Melbourne. Our beautiful waterways allow fishing to be enjoyed from the beach, riverbanks, boats, or jetties and landings. Our friendly town of Marlo offers a wide range of accommodation from hotel, rental properties to camping and hospitality venues providing some great food and drinks, with additional resources available in nearby Orbost.

Our members are committed to sustainable fishing practices and are active in the maintenance and rehabilitation of natural fish habitats. Our members are both local and visitors. We enjoy meeting new people and sharing information and ideas on how to improve and develop our wonderful recreational activity.

Fishing Marlo
Fishing at Marlo can be done from a small boat which may be launched from several ramps in the system, with the prime resources being at Marlo Jetty Rd and the Brodribb River boat ramp. Offshore fishing can be enjoyed, weather and tide permitting from Marlo and West Cape Conran. Surf fishing is very popular at Corringle Beach, Pt Ricardo, Salmon Rocks, Frenches Narrows Beach, at the entrance of the Snowy River and Yeerung Beach.

Local species of fish that are known to anglers are Bream, Flathead, Perch, Salmon, Bass, Tailor, and Mullet. Offshore, kingfish, flathead, barracuda, snapper a range of shark species can be fought and landed for a delicious feast.  Swordfish, tuna, and marlin are caught from experienced anglers in their larger and well-equipped boats. Lure fishing is also very popular and walking the flats chasing the trophy size flathead is a great way to fill in a day.  Marlo also features on the platform of national fishing events each year.

Digital photography allows our anglers to record their catches instantly and enjoy the bragging rights and then have the beautiful creatures released back into their natural environment. That is exactly what our club embraces and promotes.
