Marlo Angling Club Fishing Competition Rules

Updated Change of Competition Rules as of 2/12/2022

As a consequence of the restrictions of social distancing, the MAC committee has decided to continue the competition on a monthly basis with the following changes-

  • That is, you can now fish for the whole month i.e. from the first day of month to the last day of the month.
  • The results will be shared later to all members.
  • This will enable the competition to continue as normal without the interaction with other people in close proximity.
  • The competition will start on the first day of the month at 12.00am midnight and lines out on the last day of the month at 12:00pm midnight
  • Please Note: Bank competitions will be omitted from our current fishing calendar. Anglers can fish from the bank if desired. We do not wish to restrict anglers to fishing from the bank for an entire month.

Weighmaster

The weighmaster will continue in the

same capacity however all communication will now be electronic through the app

TRACKMYFISH: TOURNAMENT

How to use this app:

Click on this logo to download from the app Follow prompts ensuring that you select Gippsland and then Marlo Angling Club.

If you are told that your screen name is not available, simply make up another one. If you have any concerns ask a member of the committee or a junior!

It is important to record the first fish of each category per month and record your upgrades as they happen. Fish are to be digitally photographed on a brag mate measuring their length from nose to fork of the tail. The fish you have photographed is then downloaded to the app, recording its length to the relevant category. The app will automatically stamp date when your fish was caught and then update event information for that month and the annual tally.  There is no need to record every fish you catch, but you must do so if it is a bigger fish for that monthly competition and then the app will automatically let everyone know who is in the lead for the month.

NOTEWORTHY FISH: If you feel that you have a weight worthy fish that could see your name on the club honour board for the biggest species on record, ensure that you weigh your fish and record this in the same digital format as for the length, and then pass on the details to the weighmaster. (The biggest fish for the annual competition will be recorded on the app.)

Other Information…

Communication will continue via email, Facebook and regular mail (for some).

We are currently in the process of purchasing brag mats for purchase or loan.

All other information can be found in our current MAC competition rules.

Prizes/Vouchers can be picked up at Snowy River Tackle – Marlo after each monthly event at this stage.
