Fishing Report

Some nice fish being caught off the jetty at the Marlo boat ramp. Trolling the waters near the entrance of the Snowy has been great fun chasing salmon and tailor. Last weekend, we helped an angler at the Yeerung turn a huge ray when he couldn’t release the hook, meanwhile his other rod further down the beach saw 500 metres of his line being peeled by something very large!!! Gummies have been regular catches offshore. Wishing everyone a safe and eventful Easter in our beautiful waters at Marlo.

After the recent flooding the fishing has been active with Frenches Narrows having the bream biting very well. Luderick have been caught around the islands with sandworm being the best bait. The bigger bream are biting well on local crab. Bait sized prawns have been sighted in the estuary and good sized gummies have been caught offshore. Enjoy your fishing and stay safe!

The month has started well offshore with our president and his wife bagging out on flathead yesterday off Conran. They found the 40metre mark and the turn of the high tide in the morning to be the ideal conditions. They also caught a couple of nice gummies. The other great news was the ease of retrieving their boat at low tide with the added length to the ramp and the steeper gradient allowing their 5.6 metre plate aluminium boat to be loaded back on land without any issue.
The estuary system has been fishing well with our new member Tony, having great success with some nice luderick, perch and bream. His bait of choice has been sandworm and black crabs.
Good luck to all anglers over Easter and please keep us updated with your catches and photos by sending them here or to our facebook site. Enjoy your fishing and stay safe.

Salmon and tailor are active in the mouth of the Snowy. With a lot of fun being had by anglers in boats and on the beach.
Plenty of bream throughout the system, mainly on sandworm and black crab. The crab is attracting the larger fish.
Luderick of good size are being caught around both islands.
Perch and bass are being caught in the both the Snowy and Brodribb Rivers.
Offshore, gummies have been a good reward but flathead have been more evasive.
